Intellectual toys- Lego

from: itcamp.teacher.org.hk/2009CU1/LN3/lego/
In my childhood, my parents sent me a set of Lego as birthday present once. It is truly amazing because I could combine them into many objects. What’s even more special, making a theme park of your own is not a dream anymore. By plastic bricks, you construct the home or the places should be in your brain and make it into reality.

from:http://www.gameguru.in/

Lego is manufactured by the Lego Group and the company is in Billund, Denmark. It began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark, who began making wooden toys in 1932. In 1934, his company started the name “Lego” and it began producing the well-know interlocking bricks now. The bricks had several round studs on top, and a hollow rectangular bottom. The blocks snapped together, but not so tightly that they required extraordinary effort to be separated. Speaking of design, Lego pieces of all varieties are a part of a universal system. Today, the Lego Group has released thousands of sets themed around a variety of topics, like the new ”Atlantis” since it began producing plastic bricks. Other examples include dinosaurs, the wild west, pirates, scuba diving and castles. In addition, lots of licensed themes have been released such as, Star War, Batman, SpongeBob, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Spiderman. It tries hard to appeal the public in different ages. Not only it produces toys but it releases video games, theme parks, board games and films.

from:gaygamer.net/2008/08/lego_batman_the_cartoon.html
Lego really accompanies many people at leisure. We gain a lot of fun and creativity from it. We also learn to be patient when we assemble and take apart the bricks. That’s why adults prefer Lego as gifts.

The Best Company at Leisure Time-Pringles

If you are watching TV or movies, only films without something to eat sometimes make you bored. At this moment, snacks are always good choices and potato chips are one of the most popular snacks among the public. Pringles are a well-known brand in the market all over the world and today I would like to introduce this brand.
from:www.theartofair.com/item46.htm

from:www.myspace.com/carlos6615

Pringles were founded in the U.S and it was produced by Procter&Gamble. The name of it was selected from a telephone book due to its pleasing sound. At first, other snack manufacturers opposed that Pringles didn’t meet the definition of a potato chips since potato chips made from dried potatoes. However, Pringles have less than 50% potato content so it chose to rename their products “potato crisps”. Unfortunately, another issue happened in the UK for the term “potato crisps” refers to the product that the Americans call “potato chips”. In 2008, they won the accusing and didn’t need to pay Valued Added Tax for potato chips and potato-derived snacks.

from:
www.charissaelliott.com/pringles.htm

Its packaging is particular, which has a tubular can with a foil-lined interior and a resealable plastic lid. Its logo is a stylized cartoon caricature of the head of the male figure and it is commonly known as Julius Pringles. He has a large mustache and parted bangs and it is easy to recognize. There are several flavors about the crisps included original, salt and vinegar, sour cream and onion, Cheddar cheese and barbecue. Particular flavors are only in limited market areas. For example, curry flavor available in the UK. Limited edition flavors include honey mustard, cheesy fries, onion blossom and Mexican layered dip.

With the slogan” Once you pop, you can’t stop” in the U.S, the U.K and Australia and the Republic of Ireland and the one” Everything pops with Pringles”, its fame spreads widely and you can see they are around you when you go picnicking, go to movies and so on. Next time if you are lonely watching TV, maybe Pringles are good companion.

I’m lovin it- McDonald

I remember in my childhood my friends and I like to eat McDonald because there are always some surprises along with “kid meal”. Every time when I saw my classmates’ parents bring them McDonald for lunch I was really envy of that. For kids, it is really an award to eat and play in McDonald. For students and adults, it is a place providing us to study and hanging out with friends.

from:www.splicetoday.com/consume/boycott-mcdonald-s

McDonald’s is the leading global fastfood retailer with more than 31,000 local restaurants all over the world. The business began with a restaurant opened by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino in 1940. They introduce the “Speedee Service System” and established the principles of the modern fastfood restaurant. At first, the mascot of McDonald’s was a man with a chef’s hat on top of a hamburger shaped head whose name was “Speedee.” It was eventually replaced with Ronald McDonald. Later, with the expansion of McDonald into many International markets, the company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life. It also makes people discuss about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility. They release many kinds of flavors irregularly and many of them are very popular among the public, such as Big Mac and Chicken McNuggets. Many adults like to bring their children there because there are usually some playgrounds in the store so that the parents can relax and accompany their children at the same time.

from:www.grubgrade.com/tag/angus-burger/

Although McDonald faces many competitors like KFC and Burger King, it still carries out a lot of campaigns to lure people to consume. For example, it asks some famous entertainers to advertise for it or release some particular products seasonally. It also sponsors many sport competitions like the Olympics or the World Cup to make it more notable. It’s surely that it has a wonderful marketing strategy so that’s why its business is so prosperous.
