Intellectual toys- Lego

In my childhood, my parents sent me a set of Lego as birthday present once. It is truly amazing because I could combine them into many objects. What’s even more special, making a theme park of your own is not a dream anymore. By plastic bricks, you construct the home or the places should be in your brain and make it into reality.

Lego is manufactured by the Lego Group and the company is in Billund, Denmark. It began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark, who began making wooden toys in 1932. In 1934, his company started the name “Lego” and it began producing the well-know interlocking bricks now. The bricks had several round studs on top, and a hollow rectangular bottom. The blocks snapped together, but not so tightly that they required extraordinary effort to be separated. Speaking of design, Lego pieces of all varieties are a part of a universal system. Today, the Lego Group has released thousands of sets themed around a variety of topics, like the new ”Atlantis” since it began producing plastic bricks. Other examples include dinosaurs, the wild west, pirates, scuba diving and castles. In addition, lots of licensed themes have been released such as, Star War, Batman, SpongeBob, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Spiderman. It tries hard to appeal the public in different ages. Not only it produces toys but it releases video games, theme parks, board games and films.

Lego really accompanies many people at leisure. We gain a lot of fun and creativity from it. We also learn to be patient when we assemble and take apart the bricks. That’s why adults prefer Lego as gifts.
